KCSO arrests ‘career criminals’

Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) investigators arrested two men they say are career criminals, one from Lugoff, the other from Columbia. A third man is being sought.

Mr. Johnny Eugene Stover, Sr., 69, of Camden, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late J.D. and Margaret Jackson Stover and father of Jacques Stover and Johnny Eugene Stover, Jr. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at Union Baptist Church, Rembert, with burial in church cemetery. Mr. Stover will be placed in the church at 12 p.m. for viewing. Brown's Funeral Home, Camden, is serving the Stover family

On press freedoms, Obama races Nixon to bottom

By now you have probably heard on more than one occasion some representative of the Obama administration -- perhaps Jay Carney, the press secretary; or maybe Eric Holder, the attorney general; or maybe the president himself -- repeat words that have become almost a mantra in responding to the multiple issues that are dogging the White House: "It wouldn't be appropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation."
