'Tell Johnnie I'm okay'

Having the opportunity each month to write on an array of topics continues to deliver to me absolute satisfaction. Help us move forward

I believe that a person who is elected to a position of leadership should never enter the post without a solid position about the future that he/she believes is best for the people who have elected him/her. I have spent my entire life, except for my college years, in Camden, and I am proud to say that my son, daughter-in-law and grandson live here also. As I have grown older, I have watched my beloved hometown shrink and be filled with parks that became run-down, infrastructure that became outdated, streets that were filled with potholes, and a city ...

A new day at McDonald’s

Camden children had something to celebrate Dec. 16 as they were released from school for winter break. The McDonald's at 215 DeKalb St. treated youngsters to a brand-new Play Place, face-painting, a ceiling of balloons and Santa hats for every attendee to spread Christmas cheer. Three lucky winners went home with iPods, and an unsuspecting customer won a brand new 32-inch flat screen television. The store was filled with families from 2 ...
