Harrell ruling

We were glad to see the S.C. Supreme Court rule that Alan Wilson, the state's attorney general, can continue his probe into possible improprieties by Bobby Harrell, speaker of the House of Representatives. Lawyers for Harrell had attempted to have Wilson removed from the case. Wilson had originally asked a state grand jury to investigate whether Harrell had broken ethics laws in several different instances.

War on cancer

The war on cancer, begun with so much optimism several decades ago, has not proven to be as successful as scientists and physicians had hoped. Reader thinks firearms ordinance response to 'select few'

Kershaw County Council is making an attempt by backdoor rulings to attempt to eliminate hunting by prohibiting discharge of firearms within 300 yards of a residence, church, or school. There are very few places where you can go and not be within 300 yards of a prohibited structure. The place I have set up is within 300 yards, but I am able to shoot away from the house. If I try to move 300 yards, I may not be able to use the same target, which is located away from the structure.

Gabrielle, whose father, Michael, is a Camden native, and her mother invented what they consider the solution for securing the ends of girls' pigtails, braids and twists. It's called the Double-Face Double-Snap Barrette by GaBBY and, according to a press release, is considered the first of its kind.
