Maggie. T. Hall Trimnal

Maggie. T. Hall Trimnal, 101, of Kershaw died Friday evening, Sept. 14, 2012 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. Born Oct. 24, 1910 in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Thomas "Fred" and Annie Jane Moseley Taylor. Mrs. Trimnal was a charter member of Abney Baptist Church and was an excellent seamestress. She also enjoyed making quilts, dresses and aprons. She was widowed three times, first by Laurie Bennie-Will Rogers, second by Willie Ellison Hall and third by Wylie Edward Trimnal.

Camden receives outstanding planning award

The city of Camden was recently honored as the 2012 recipient of the Outstanding Planning award by the South Carolina chapter of the American Planning Association (SCAPA) at its annual conference Oct. 19 at Litchfield Beach. The Outstanding Planning award is presented to a project of local significance that shows innovation, quality, transferability, comprehensiveness, sustainability and cost benefit. The city of Camden, with the assistance of URS Corporation, was recognized for its Broad Street Road Diet.
