Historic Camden hosts Revolutionary War Field Days

Once again, the acrid smell of campfire smoke and the trill of the fife will fill the air when the armies of the Revolution pitch their campaign tents on the grounds once occupied by British forces in 1780. In the camps will be some 500 American, British and Hessian troops and civilian interpreters.

Gussie Mobley Huckabee

Services for Mrs. Gussie Mobley Huckabee, of Bethune, age 108, widow of Dalton J. Huckabee will be Tuesday at 3:00 pm at the Bethune Presbyterian Church. Dr. Guy Oliver and Dr. Sue Arledge will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Scotch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday 1:30 to 3:00 in the church Fellowship Hall.

A graveside service to honor the life of USAF, (Ret.) MSGT Frederick Allen Painter, of Lugoff, with full military rites will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Rev. Dearld Sterling will officiate.
