Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are Jinx, a 2-month-old male orange tabby kitten, and Winny, a 3-month-old male Golden Retriever mix puppy. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. The shelter, located at the south end of Fair Street and managed by the Kershaw County Humane Society, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. As gas prices settle at over $3 per gallon, many people are looking for alternative forms of transportation. One such option is riding a bicycle.
