Using grant funds from Rotary District 7770, the West Wateree Rotary Club recently donated a collection of books to Lugoff-Elgin Middle School. Titles included books focused on character building, award winners, and summer reading titles. Students assisting with the unpacking include Trey Stevens, Abby Gary, Marie Neville, Abby Davis, Tyler Matthews, Emily Branham and teacher Karen Bullard.

Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) investigators arrested two men they say are career criminals, one from Lugoff, the other from Columbia. A third man is being sought.

Mr. Johnny Eugene Stover, Sr., 69, of Camden, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late J.D. and Margaret Jackson Stover and father of Jacques Stover and Johnny Eugene Stover, Jr. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at Union Baptist Church, Rembert, with burial in church cemetery. Mr. Stover will be placed in the church at 12 p.m. for viewing. Brown's Funeral Home, Camden, is serving the Stover family
