In response to your article concerning Kershaw County regulating roadside vendors, I don't believe that regulating these businesses is a good idea. I, for one, would rather buy a local tomato from a roadside vendor than one from a store via California. It just makes more sense to support a local economy.

Everette Coates died March 10, 2012 at White Oak Manor in Lancaster; SC. Born April 10, 1922, he was the second child of the late Mamie Robinson Coates and Dexter Hardin Coates. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Jewett (Mike) of Lancaster and a sister Robbie Coates Gardner, of Columbia. He was predeceased by his sister, Juanita Gordon, his wife of 68 years, Myra Huntley Coates, and a brother who died in infancy.
Abel Gonzalez, flanked by his parents, Gracie and Armodo, was the winner of the North Central Middle School Peace Poster Contest sponsored by the Bethune Lions Club. The theme was "Children Know Peace." Abel's entry was then submitted to the Lions 32-C competition which featured winners from other clubs in the district.
