I do not consider myself an alarmist nor do I normally get overly excited about things, but there is definitely cause for concern regarding a recent find in town. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Hammie, Sr. and Lottie Smith Brown and husband of Denise Alexander Brown. We're glad to see law enforcement officers, especially state troopers, blanketing Kershaw County roadways this week in an effort to help stem a disturbing trend in traffic-related deaths this year. From today through Saturday, troopers will saturate the area, and they will be assisted by cooperating officers from the Camden Police Department, Kershaw County Sheriff's Office and Elgin Police Department.
