A 52-year-old man charged with kidnapping a missing northeast Richland County teen is now a person of interest in the 2011 murder of an Elgin man.

Camden native takes over local SCNG signal company

Capt. Dwight DeLoach, a Camden native, recently took command of Company C of the S.C. National Guard's (SCNG) 151st Expeditionary Signal Battalion headquartered in Camden. Capt. Octavious K. Baldwin transferred command to DeLoach during an Aug. 5 ceremony held at the Camden National Guard Armory on Ehrenclou Drive.

A KershawHealth accreditation survey that reflects "the most favorable results I have seen in my many years as a healthcare CEO," according to chief executive Donnie Weeks, is a positive sign for KershawHealth during a period of financial turmoil. The hospital's financial struggles (as have those of many hospitals) have been well documented over the last couple years as the economy has taken a toll on elective surgeries and other procedures, so KershawHealth was in need of some good news.

Elgin man arrested in connection with kidnapping Richland County teen

Richland County Sheriff's Department (RCSD) deputies charged an Elgin man Tuesday with kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of a 15-year-old Richland County girl. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott identified the man as Freddie Grant, 52, of Kelly Road, in the town of Elgin.
