KC Farmers Market gears up for fall, holiday events

If you think the Kershaw County Farmers Market is drawing to an end just because the tomatoes, squash and eggplants are dwindling, think again. Local farmers are busy in their fields to make room for fall vegetables. Cole crops like broccoli, cabbage and kale are coming soon.

L-EHS' Wood named National Achievement Scholarship semifinalist

Lugoff-Elgin High School student Jack Wood is among 1,600 African-American high school seniors who have been designated as semifinalists in the National Achievement Scholarship competition. Only 48 South Carolina students were selected for this recognition. He now has an opportunity to compete for approximately 800 scholarships worth over $2.5 million to be awarded next spring.

Town Green project starts today

The city of Camden's public parking lot located between Wachovia and the Old Armory Steakhouse will be closed beginning today. The lot, commonly referred to as the east back lot, will be closed due to the construction of the Camden Town Green.
