Mr. Buckley's letter that appeared in the Chronicle-Independent some time ago (President's Day? Feb. 19, 2014) seems to demonstrate a trend in the U.S. of "no respect" for others whether in political office or next door neighbors.

For Kershaw County sports fans, like those across the country, few events can surpass in excitement the annual NCAA college basketball tournament, which has been known as March Madness for many years. (Well, here in the Palmetto State, the South Carolina-Clemson football game sits at the top of the list.) Charles Strickland, 79 of Charlotte passed away Wednesday March 12, 2014 at his residence. Charles was born May 9, 1934 in Selma, NC to the late Frank and Lou Vera Ballard Strickland.
