Mr. and Mrs. Albert Richard Pierce, Jr. were married on October 27, 2012, at Millstone at Adam's Pond. The Reverend Amos Jerman Disasa (PCUSA) officiated the 5:00 p.m. ceremony. A reception immediately followed.

As South Carolina's oldest inland city, Camden has a proud historical heritage and, fortunately, a populace that embraces it and promotes it. The latest chapter in the historical tableau was unveiled yesterday afternoon when statues of Joseph Kershaw, one of the founders of the town, and King Hagler a Native American leader who assisted the people of this area during the French and Indian War, were unveiled on the Town Green.
Thursday, October 18, 2012 was another day with another full-throated proposal for ethics reform from the political class in Columbia. This time, our governor heralded the creation of a "commission" (at least she doesn't label it "blue ribbon") to make "recommendations" to the General Assembly concerning "reform" of the current ethics laws.

Only an archivist/museum person gets excited about brand new acid-free boxes. I felt like it was Christmas when the shipping boxes from Gaylord Bros. Inc. began to arrive! Finally, the work of rehousing the collection in proper containers could begin. So, box by box, each collection was taken out of its old container and placed in new packaging. The database was checked for accuracy and the new boxes were placed back on the shelves in the stacks. All but this one box … as I peered inside to see what it contained, a little face with an agonizing expression peeked ...

Maggie. T. Hall Trimnal, 101, of Kershaw died Friday evening, Sept. 14, 2012 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. Born Oct. 24, 1910 in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Thomas "Fred" and Annie Jane Moseley Taylor. Mrs. Trimnal was a charter member of Abney Baptist Church and was an excellent seamestress. She also enjoyed making quilts, dresses and aprons. She was widowed three times, first by Laurie Bennie-Will Rogers, second by Willie Ellison Hall and third by Wylie Edward Trimnal.
Robert James Nelson, of Camden, SC, formerly of The Villages, FL, and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, was born January 19, 1919 and passed away on October 23, 2012.
