Low paid state workers

It's a shame the way the Department of Transportation pays workers that work on highways patching roads, cutting grass, opening clogged pipes, etc., etc.

To early humans, any animal that was able to succeed behind the deep purple veil of night must surely be magical or possess abilities not granted by anything of this realm. Perhaps it is this reason that ...

Thank the road crews

I would like to commend the S.C. Department of Transportation, city of Camden and Kershaw County road crews for their work during last week's snow/ice storm. The storm

Last week's forecasts of an "epic winter storm" in the South had everyone in Kershaw County scurrying around trying to get prepared. Of course, it's an old joke that if a few flakes of snow are forecast, Southerners flood grocery stores to stock up with milk and bread -- we've never quite understood why milk and bread -- and supermarkets in this area were indeed beehives of activity early last week as people prepared for possible power outages and periods of being homebound.
