Kershaw County Teacher Forum:

Not long after I got here five years ago, several teachers came to meet with me to talk about Teacher Forum. At the time, I was picturing this to be the Kershaw County version of some sort of a Teacher Advisory Committee. I was very wrong. The Kershaw County Teacher Forum is so much more. It is a group that really promotes the development of teacher leaders who are ready to help take on tough issues and problems in their own schools, within the District and beyond. It is a model of teacher leadership that needs to be replicated across ...

Trees get thirsty, too

Summer is officially here and we now have the temperatures to prove it! Along with high temperatures come afternoon showers and sometimes downright gully-washer rains. These rain events can be quite dramatic and appear like many inches have fallen from the sky. Unfortunately, most times this is not the case. Even in the rare occasions when we do actually get close to 1 inch of rain, it falls so hard and fast that the ground has little time to absorb it.

Another 'good ole boy' lawsuit

Well let's get these ridiculous and embarrassing law suits going again. Get them back on course! They are such a good use for our country's image and above all, a great way to spend our tax dollars. Our county needed a sheriff change and now that Jim Matthews has become our sheriff and seems to be doing all the right things for all of us, he seems to have upset our country's "good ole boys."
