KCSD dropout rate beats state average

The Kershaw County School District's (KCSD) dropout rate decreased a percentage point from 2.9 percent in 2010-11 to 1.9 percent in 2011-12. According to data recently released by the S.C. Department of Education, the lower rate is also lower than the state average, which dropped to 2.5 percent in 2011-12 from 2.8 the previous year.

CFD, Safe Kids offering car seat installations

The city of Camden Fire Department (CFD) is teaming up with Safe Kids Kershaw County to provide free child safety seat inspections and installations during the annual Belk Back to School Kid Fest. Kid Fest features games, prizes, discounts and fashion shows. This year, Kid Fest will also offer free child safety seat inspections and installations.
