Summertime is traditionally a time of outdoor fun and fellowship. Its unofficial beginning is marked by Memorial Day weekend with the recognition of and thanks to those who have served our country. A service to celebrate the life of Martha Jane Dennis, 64, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at McLeods Chapel in Rembert. The Rev. Patricia Amick will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services for Peggy Rabon Funderburk, 66, were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at North Hartsville Baptist Church. The Rev. Ladell Humphries officiated the service; a burial followed in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
