Stop the virus of Chicago violence

For once, Chicago has beaten New York in a competition that the Windy City had no desire to win. Chicago ended 2012 with more homicides than the Big Apple. No cheers for that.

An early spring?

No matter how you feel about climate change -- whether you think global warming is caused by humans and is driving the planet towards ruin, or whether recent warmer temperatures are just a part of natural weather cycles -- it's hard to deny the enjoyment of a winter spell in which temperatures rise far above normal. That's what is forecast for the next few days in Camden, with highs in the mid-70s, which is more like late spring than the height of winter.

Living on Social Security

This mother/mother-in-law lives on Social Security and a part-time job. Obama's mother-in-law lives in the White House on our taxes and wants for nothing. Social Security tells us we can't make but so much money or they will take back one dollar for every two dollars we make over. Mr. and Mrs. Haynes celebrate 50 years

Camden firefighters check out the remains of an external light fixture at the entrance to the Camden Archives and Museum around mid-morning Wednesday. Archives Director Katherine Richardson said the fixture -- likely a 1915 original that hadn't been turned on in years -- was likely turned on by an electrician who had been changing light bulbs the day before.
