Let's go shopping

Most women love to hear that phrase. I, on the other hand cringe inwardly. I really do dislike shopping. I am also the remote control freak at our house too. So, I guess I am not your typical female. Although, I must say, I have never met a "typical" female. I have always found us ladies to be a unique creation. Can I get an a-men here? Oh well, I digress, let's get back to the chore at hand, shopping.

Pets of the week -- April 29, 2011

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are a short-haired calico kitten and Monty, a 2-year-old Chihuahua-Dachshund mix dog. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. The shelter, located at the south end of Fair Street and managed by the Kershaw County Humane Society, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. ‘A Warrior’s Stance’ fundraiser held May 5

A fundraiser for "A Warrior's Stance," a community outreach program created to change the lives of Kershaw County youth through arts, drama and dramatic dance, will be held May 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Passages, located at 607 Rutledge St. A Warrior's Stance was founded by Marney L. Mr. Carl William Montgomery, age 80, of Fort Mill, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at his home. He was born August 6, 1930 in Camden, SC, the son of the late Carl William Montgomery and Kathleen Carter Ashlaw and was the husband of Mary "Toots" Colvin Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery retired from DuPont, was a lifetime member of Kershaw Masonic Lodge #29, Charter Member of Jamil Shrine Center, Past President of the Camden Shrine Club and a member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church.
