Applications for the 2013-14 Junior Leadership Kershaw County class for rising juniors and seniors are now available at the county's high schools and the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center.
The United Way of Kershaw County Board of Directors announces the availability of $20,000 to address the identified focus areas of Education, Financial Stability, Health and Hunger, and Homelessness. The funds are available through a competitive application process to any non-profit organization serving the community.

On the afternoon of February 15, 2013, the famed Beard Collection began to arrive at the Camden Archives and Museum. On March 5, the last large load arrived around 1 p.m. and the archives was a beehive of activity, with police and firemen carrying collection items in from trucks, cars and vans. The fact that Mr. Jones voted to approve the purchase of two ambulances for KershawHealth is overshadowed by his deplorable attack on the administration and members of the KershawHealth Board of Trustees.
