It's time for the Halloween edition of Finally Friday free outdoor concert series at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC). This month the Rusty Davis Band will take the stage for this special edition of Finally Friday. Along with the concert, there will be a special "trunk r' treat" competition, face painting, and costume contests for both children and adults. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes in several categories as well as for best decorated trunk. The fun begins at 6 p.m., Friday behind the Wood Auditorium stage.
Fun and thrills will greet Kershaw County youngsters at the Broad Street Trick-or-Treat, to be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday in downtown Camden.

Ending a multi-year drought, the Camden High boys cross country team brought back the Region 6-AAA trophy back from last Thursday's championship meet held in Darlington. The Bulldogs made a complete sweep of the hardware as head coach Jerry Stokes was named as the conference coach of the year.
Ashleigh Walters with WLTX in Columbia visited Abby Spitzer's fifth-grade news teams in the media center at Baron DeKalb Elementary School Oct. 5. She worked with them on proper angling of the camera, how to make smooth transitions in their newscast, and gave them many creative ideas to improve their daily news show. The fifth-grade teams hope to make their show more interesting with the addition of special features each day and still photographs that will accompany many of their spotlight stories.
