A rabies clinic will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Salt Pond Farm & Garden, 2487 Springvale Road, in Kershaw County. The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is partnering with participating veterinarians across the state to help residents protect their pets and themselves against rabies, the agency announced today. Local veterinarian Hamilton Tetterton will offer Saturday's clinic.

James Leroy Belk American Legion Post No. 17 is seeking applications for Palmetto Boys State, to be held June 9-15 at Anderson University in Anderson, S.C. Applicants should be motivated students interested in learning about citizenship and government, rising seniors of good character and in the top 25% of their class.
Saturday at 6 p.m., the Camden Branch of the Kershaw County Library will open for a special performance of The Okee Dokee Brothers, a Minneapolis, Minn. based folk duo. The show is free and open to all ages, with a family focus.
