KershawHealth decisions impact employees, patients

As a volunteer at KershawHealth, I agree with Bob Dornblaser. We do take jobs away from employees. However, if we all resigned, the hospital leadership would not rehire those employees. The patients would suffer. The employees who depend on our help would suffer. Amy Kinard, the new volunteer director who had nothing to do with this mess, would suffer.

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are a calico kitten and a 1-year-old female beagle. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. The shelter, located at the south end of Fair Street and managed by the Kershaw County Humane Society, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Now the rubber meets the road

November 4 is past, and statewide elections have been decided. As I have discussed in earlier columns, I am always intrigued, and even a little amused, with the amount of rhetoric that is aimed at education during election time. Now that the votes have been cast, there are a lot of important educational issues hanging in the air that will need to be resolved by newly elected office holders. The decisions made will have significant and lasting impact.
