Funeral service for Curtis Leon Drakeford, 66, of 2002 DeKalb School Road in Camden, will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011, 2:00 P.M. at Bingham Chapel AME Zion Church with burial in Dry Branch Cemetery in Westville, SC. Friends may visit at the home of his niece and nephew-in-law, Rev. David and Annette Stratford, 1945 DeKalb School Road in Camden. Masonic rites will be conducted between 7:00 P.M. and 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
On Friday, Feb. 25, under the direction of Rebecca Greenway and Jodie Kahler, North Central Middle School held its annual Miss Patriot Pageant. This year's theme was Under the Sea. Each contestant was judged and scored in three areas:

The United Methodist Women of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church will hold it's annual Day Before the Cup Bake Sale on Friday, April 1. Mary LeNoir Lindler, 92, of Rembert, wife of the late Otis Gordon Lindler, died Monday at her home. Born on February 28, 1919 in Hagood, she was the daughter of John Isham and Mary Ellerbe LeNoir.

The 20th annual Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup 10K road race and the Vonnie Holliday Foundation 5K run/walk will take to the streets of Camden on Saturday, Oct. 25.
With the 45th annual Marion duPont Scott International Colonial Cup Steeplechase Races a little more than a month away, patrons who had reserved parking spaces for last year's Camden fall classic have until Friday, Oct. 10 to assure they retain those spaces. All unsold spaces will be placed for sale to the general public.
