Mr. and Mrs. William R. Ogburn (Bill and Dorothy) celebrated their 70th anniversary on November 23, 2010. Brian Wonderling (middle), owner of Sears in Lugoff, recently donated $700 in classroom materials to four first grade teachers at Lugoff Elementary. The teachers received digital cameras, electronic pencil sharpeners, a CD player, headphones, print cartridges as well as other items to use in their classroom. "It's important for local businesses to support our teachers, especially in this economy," Wonderling said. He also said he hopes he can set an example for other local companies to follow in his foot steps.

Kershaw County Council will hold a public hearing on and consider third and final reading of an ordinance approving the development of a joint county industrial park with Chesterfield County. The public hearing and consideration of the ordinance are scheduled for council's meeting Tuesday evening.
The Camden High School Bulldog Club membership drive is in full swing for the 2014-2015 school year. The organization, founded in 1952, provides financial assistance to all athletic programs at the school through the membership drive and various fundraising activities.
