A celebration of life service for William Ernest Wagner, 66, of Camden, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Steve Patterson and the Rev. David Weaver Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, Lutheran Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.

Volunteers needed at Community Medical Clinic

The Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County offers out patient care to Kershaw County residents who have no health insurance and can not pay for health care or medications. The clinic is recruiting volunteers to staff the front desk, to screen new patients for eligibility, to fill medication orders and to serve on special event and fundraising committees. There is also a special need for health professionals such as RN's, CNA's, or medical assistants to take vital signs and blood sugar levels.

Memorial walk held in honor of Sullivan Spradley

The "Step Up for Sullivan Memorial Walk" will be held Nov 5 with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and the walk starting at 10 a.m. The events will be held at the Lugoff Elgin High School Stadium. The fundraising event is sponsored by MADD Kershaw County in honor of what would have been Sullivan Spradley's 12th birthday. Participants can walk in memory of loved ones who were lost due to alcohol related automobil crashes. Registration is $25 with a T-shirt included. Students age 14 and up are $10. Equine Triumvirate featuring the works of Lauren Allen, Libby Bussinah, Rachel Parker

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) is planning a very special evening on Friday. The Equine Triumvirate: Lauren Allen, Libby Bussinah & Rachel Parker, a celebration of the equine industry through art opens in the Bassett Gallery with a reception from 5:30-7 p.m. followed by the Charles Wadsworth & Friends concert at 7 p.m. The exhibit will run through Dec. 2.

Mini-Olympics of Kershaw County

Noon. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011. The Larry Doby Sports Complex, Camden. With yells, yelps, occasional groans and ongoing laughter, the first Mini-Olympics of Kershaw County was off and running. Twenty-five boys and girls, some as young as 5 and many new to sports, competed in seven fun events, from the potato sack race, obstacle course and soccer relay to the jump rope relay, bean bag toss and long jump.
