A few weeks ago, a friend and I happened to stumble upon a great old-timey store during a trip up to Clemson. No, we weren't in the market for handle-bar mustache wax or a top hat and monocle, but we did want to pick up something we haven't bought in a long time -- a movie from Blockbuster.
"There's going to be some embarrassing moments out there today," Kershaw County Sheriff's Department (KCSO) Captain Ed Corey said with a laugh as one of his deputies plowed through the dirt and grass at Carolina Motorsports Park.

The nearly 200-year-old "Little House," an historic home built by Bonds Conway, Kershaw County's first freed slave, will receive a special dedication Nov. 1 on the grounds of the also historic Price House.
The main goal of Kershaw County First Steps is to strengthen families and ensure a successful starting point for children entering schools in the community. With the organization's opening of two new resource rooms in September, the group's staff hopes it can work even more effectively toward that goal.
"We would have liked to have been involved in this process a lot earlier," said Kershaw County Councilman Tom Gardner of county council's participation in plans for a new city-built sports complex in Camden.
