I really applaud the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees for taking the initiative to get its school faculty and staff registered to vote and informed about the issues affecting public K-12 education.
The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees voted to update language to four policies affecting the board itself at its meeting Tuesday at Baron DeKalb Elementary School. The board also agreed to amend one of the four policies presented to them at its Aug. 20 meeting. The hope is that the updated policies will increase the Kershaw County School District's (KCSD) chances of receiving a higher score on an Oct. 6 accreditation visit by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
A record number of visitors walked through the doors of the Camden Archives and Museum during the city of Camden's 2012-13 fiscal year. During a Camden City Council work session Thursday afternoon, Archives Director Katherine Richardson said in Fiscal Year 2013, 7,401 people visited the archives, an increase of more than 1,500 visitors from 2011-12.
KershawHealth will conduct an internal investigation to determine if a PC technician arrested August 23 for inappropriately texting a 14-year-old Kershaw County teen used any KershawHealth assets "as part of acts similar to what he has been charged with," KershawHealth Vice President of Marketing and Community Development Joseph Bruce said in an email.
