The Elgin woman told Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) deputies that her long-term Kentucky pen pal told her that she was behind in bills, that she had a large sum of medical bills, and "how bad her life was." The letter sent said the Kentucky woman would send her the money on June 14th, but has failed to repay the money.
