This fall, non-profit organization Lighthouse for Life will host its first fundraiser in Lugoff. The event is set for Oct. 11 at Lugoff Ford from 1 to 5 p.m. Lighthouse for Life is based in Columbia and works to combat sex trafficking in the state through education, empowerment and restoration.

Saturday marks the start of the Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen competition for 78 young ladies, two of which will be representing Camden. Abbie Zvejnieks was crowned Miss Camden the beginning of this year along with Olivia Loynes who was crowned Miss Camden Teen. Abbie will be attending Wake Forest in the fall and Olivia is a rising junior at North Central High School.
