Eagles soar to another championship

The Eagles won the Kershaw County Recreation Department Pee Wee League football championship for the second consecutive year. This past season, the Eagles went 9-0 in the regular season before winning three more games in the playoffs, including the championship contest, to put the wraps on a 12-0 campaign. Camden CC trio wins Lathrop Cup

The Camden Country Club team of, from left, Bob Stringer, Jimmy Burgess and Vic Hannon, claimed the third annual Lathrop Cup by six shots with a total of four over par 220. Camden won the Inaugural Lathrop Cup in 2008 when it was the host club. The 2010 South Carolina Golf Association Lathrop Cup was played on the par-72, Reserve Club at Woodside Plantation in Aiken. NC pair earn all-state laurels

North Central volleyball player April Barrett achieved a trifecta when she was named as the Region 3-A player of the year. That honor capped the senior hitter's being tabbed as a Class A All-State team member and being selected to play in the North-South Volleyball All-Star matches to be held on Nov. 18-20 at Erskine College in Due West.
