Following a long list of Thursday night contests, it will be a relatively mild weekend for Kershaw County athletic teams.
The Camden-based S.C. Ballers, an 11-and-under AAU basketball team, is preparing to kick off its season with tournament contests set beginning this month. Great Falls used a 13-run bottom of the fourth inning to rally back from a 2-1 deficit to down host North Central, 14-2, in Thursday's championship game of the May Plant Credit Union Baseball Bash in Boonetown.

Some of the top Taekwondo athletes from the county and the region will take to the floor of Camden's Rhame City Arena for Saturday's 2011 South Carolina State Taekwondo Championships.
