North Central High School will host the annual May Plant Credit Union Baseball Bash on the Knights' home field in Boonetown.
Seven Kershaw County wrestlers will head to the Anderson Civic Center on Friday for the two-day South Carolina High School League individual state championship wrestling tournament.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Camden native and former Camden High School and Post 17 American Legion standout Stephen Carmon is off to a quick start to his junior baseball season at USC Aiken.
All three Kershaw County public high school wrestling teams will be represented at this weekend's Upper State and Lower State individual tournaments.
The recent spell of warmer weather may throw high school baseball fans in Kershaw County --- who, usually, bundle up for early season games --- off a bit, but it is nearly time for the local baseball season to begin.
Earlier this year, following the completion of his 13th NFL season and his first with the Washington Redskins, Camden native Vonnie Holliday took time out to talk to the Chronicle-Independent about the negotiations on a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), between the NFL Players Association and the NFL owners.

The "More than Conquerors" baseball clinic will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wildwood Youth Complex in Lugoff.

Monday: Rock Hill at Lugoff-Elgin in third round of state class 4A wrestling championship (7 p.m.)
Tuesday's 53-44 win over visiting Lakewood gave the Camden High boys' basketball team's playoffs hopes a lift.
Lugoff-Elgin will play host to the first two rounds of the class 4A Upper State tournament which begins on Saturday, Feb. 5 at noon.

Now that Christmas Day is behind us, Kershaw County basketball and wrestling teams are heading into holiday break tournaments beginning today and running into the new year.
Both the Camden and North Central high school wrestling teams were ranked in the top 20 in their respect classifications in the scmat.com poll for the week ending on Dec. 19.
