Road conditions force postponement of two KC basketball games

Due to safety concerns regarding the conditions of roadways following this week's snow storm, two of the three basketball games involving Kershaw County high school teams for this evening have been postponed.

Twice as nice

James "Foots" Hasty of Camden, won the Twin Lakes Bass Masters Fishing Tour for the second time in as many years. Formerly known as the DuPont Fishing Club more than 20 years ago, the circuit fishes a different lake each month. In 2010, Hasty had a total haul which weighed in at 63 pounds, 11 ounces. He nearly reeled in the big fish in the circuit for the second consecutive time, losing that crown by a single ounce.

Free throw contests slated for next two Saturdays in Camden

All Kershaw County boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in the 2011 Knights of Columbus Free- Throw Shootout to be held on Saturday, Jan. 22 at E. Clarkson Rhame City Arena on South Broad Street in Camden.

With recent freezing temperatures across South Carolina, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts headed to the field should be aware of the threat of hypothermia and how to combat it. Hypothermia occurs when exposure to the wind, cold and wetness drain heat from the body faster than it can be produced.
