Post 17 squads hold joint tryouts beginning Monday, May 9

The James Leroy Belk Post 17 Kershaw County Senior and Junior American Legion baseball teams will both begin tryouts for the 2011 summer season on Monday, May 9 at 6 p.m. at American Legion Park on Ehrenclou Drive in Camden.

Along with their colleagues, the Ballers' 11 and under squad, the T-ballers 14 and under AAU basketball team did clean up work in neighborhoods for the United Way. The two teams will also host a fundraising "Short Stacks for Change" pancake breackfast on Saturday, May 14 from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Fatz Cafe in Camden. Tickets for the breakfast are $7 each which includes one short stack of pancakes, sausage links, fruit cup and choice of coffee, tea, milk or juice.
