"Remember when..." is a weekly historical feature showcasing life in Kershaw County, taken from the archives of the Chronicle-Independent. The Camden Midget basketball team won the state championship in the state tournament played at Myrtle Beach in March 1954. "Remember when..." is a weekly historical feature showcasing life in Kershaw County, taken from the archives of the Chronicle-Independent. The Camden Business and Professional Women's Club held its annual "Guest Night" at Elizabeth Thomas' Restaurant in March 1971, and one of the highlights was an original skit, "From the Cradle to the ?", written and narrated by Virginia Humphries, club president. Taking part in the skit were Mamie Team, Pearl Hunt, Carolyn Murray, Laura Lee, Kay Johnson, Ethelyn Christmas, Edith Horton, Mary Mayer, Marsha Taylor and Virginia Humphries.
