Midlands Women’s Center Color Run is Saturday

The Midlands Women's Center Color Fun Run and Walk is Saturday. This family friendly fundraising event is held at Historic Camden, 222 Broad Street, Camden. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and start time is 9 a.m. The cost is $40 and includes a t-shirt. Children under 12 are free. All proceeds benefit Midlands Women's Center, a not for profit organization that assists women in Kershaw County who are facing unplanned pregnancies. King Haiglar Garden Club meets Monday

The King Haiglar Garden Club will meet Monday at 2 p.m. The meeting will begin at Camden High School with a tour of the CHS Greenhouses and a program by Joey Hendrix, earth science instructor. Refreshments and the business meeting will follow at the home of Marietta Gordon. The theme for artistic arrangements is "Our Treasures Unfold" from a quote by Alfred Billings Street: "Nature is man's teacher. She unfolds her treasures to his search, unseals his eye, illumes his mind, and purifies his heart; an influence breathes from all the sights and sounds of her existence."

Fundraiser to be held at Camden American Legion

A yard sale and BBQ fundraiser will be held Saturday at the American Legion in Camden starting at 7 a.m. BBQ will be served beginning at 10:30 a.m. The event is being held to support Kershaw County resident Brenda Lund who recently underwent heart surgery to implant a heart pump.

This October marks the 20th year for the award-winning Carolina Downhome Blues Festival in Camden. Produced and presented by the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County, this year's event is scheduled for October 6-8 and will feature more than 22 artists in 17 venues over three days. ‘Duck for President’ is Oct. 2 at FAC

Just in time for all of the election fuss, the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) will bring a very "timely" children's production of Duck for President to the Wood Auditorium on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. This musical production is produced and presented by Columbia Children's Theatre and is sponsored by Modern Turf. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are on sale now on the FAC website, and at the FAC box office.
