The United Way of Kershaw County (UWKC) will be hosting a test drive event at Lugoff Ford, sponsored by Ford National, this Saturday March 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each test drive by participants will result in a $20 donation to the UWKC at no financial cost to the participant. Participants must be over 18 years old and have a valid drivers license.
The Camden Community Concert Band will present their Winter concert on Sunday, March 19 at 3 p.m. at Camden High School. The concert is free and open to the public. The CCCB is in its 37th year of presenting music to the Camden and Kershaw County area. The band has four concerts per year – two in Rectory Square Park and two at Camden High School. Sunday's concert features include "Highlights from Frozen," "Danny Boy" and crowd favorite "Classical Gas" and many other favorites
The Lugoff Garden Club will host an auction fundraiser, Monday March 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rowan Presbyterian Church. There will also be a short business meeting and soup supper. Monetary donations will be accepted. Items will be auctioned by a starting auction bid and a short hint description. The auctioneer is Henry Powers and the Hostess is Sandy McComb. The Camden Garden Club meets Monday at the home of Squeaky Wangensteen. Her home is nestled among some huge pear trees, hence the name Pear Tree Farm. Her gardens have a wide variety of different colors and textures. From inside the house the large picture windows allow views from every room. This will be a business meeting and an election of new club officers so there will be no guests, members only. After the meeting, Tony and Joy Scully will be the speakers and the program for the month will be on flora and fauna of China.
March is Youth Arts Month and the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC,) along with the Camden Community Theatre (CCT) are pleased to present Disney's The Jungle Book Kids as the 2017 Youth Production. Disney's The Jungle Book Kids, a musical, will be held March 16-19 in the Wood Auditorium at the FAC. Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday. A ribbon cutting, children's parade, food, arts and crafts, bounce houses and musical acts brought hundreds of people to downtown Camden's Rutledge Street for the Montessori School of Camden's (MSC) first-ever Irish Fest on Saturday.
Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service Livestock and Forages Team will conduct a one day Equine Forage Workshop. I have been involved in school sports and clubs since the 7th grade. Being active in school sports and clubs is very important to me.
