Silent auction at woman’s wellness event to benefit New Day on Mill

Women's Window to Wellness will host an evening of women supporting women in health, wellness and beauty this Thursday evening. Several of Camden's small businesses will participate and provide interactive experiences such as skin care analysis, a make-up consultation, a mini facial, sampling of nutritional products, sample essential oils, a Reiki session or a hand massage.

Habitat ReStore auctions doll house

The Habitat ReStore is auctioning off a doll house to assist building houses for families in need in Kershaw County. The doll house and its' furniture were hand made by Marion and Bill Tripp of Camden in the 1980s. The needlepoint rugs in the house were made by their sister. To see and bid on the house visit the Habitat Store at 1019 Broad Street, Camden. Submit bids at the register, bids start at $250. The auction will last until Feb. 28.

January 31, 22 Lugoff-Elgin High School "Hollywood Hunks" competed for the title of Mr. L-E. Edward Aaron and Friends returns to FAC Monday

Edward Arron & Friends return to the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County Monday for the second concert of the three-part Chamber Music Series. The concert begins at 7 p.m., immediately following a cocktail hour beginning at 6 p.m. The concert will feature selections by Beethoven, Stravinsky, Weber and Debussy. Miss Black & Gold 2015

The Miss Gold and Black Pageants will be held on Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th. Both pageants begin at 7 p.m. in the Camden High Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance at Camden High School. The theme for the pageants is "On Broadway." Miss Lugoff-Elgin 2015 crowned

29 young women competed for the titles of Miss L-E and Jr. Miss L-E Saturday evening at the Lugoff-Elgin High School auditorium. The theme for the evening was "Dancing into the 1920s." Price House Commission thanks community during recognition ceremony

The Price House Commission recently presented certificates of appreciation to various community organizations, businesses and individuals to thank them for their involvement in the commission's annual Black History Month display. The Price House Commission is dedicated to preserving Camden's African-American history and educating the community. Price House Commission Chairman Clifton H. Anderson shared with attendees that the Association for the Study of African American Life and History Executive Director Sylvia Y. Cyrus sent a letter of recognition to the commission for their work in Kershaw County.

Miss Camden Teen hosts mini dance camp

Miss Camden Teen Olivia Loynes and Palmetto Princess Alyson Goodwin hosted three Learning and Exploring the Arts through Dance Mini Camps during spring break. These camps were held at the Kirkwood Community Center, Trinity Apartments and Bethune Community Center. Girls ages 5-12 participated in the camp. Donations from the camp were given to the Children's Miracle Network.
