CMA cadet earns Eagle Scout title
Nick Marullo of Troop 38 from Camden Military attained the rank of Eagle Scout April 18. His project entailed building, replacing, and placing descriptive and directional signs at Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site. Historic Camden Executive Director Joanna Craig was especially pleased with the three descriptive "way" signs for the cannons, blacksmith forge, and dugout canoe. FAC’s School Arts Program wraps up its 32nd year
For more than 30 years, the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) has collaborated with regional artists and the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) to bring professional artists into the district to perform, inspire and teach. This history includes implementing Arts in Education grants from the South Carolina Arts Commission since 1983.
13th annual Camden Cup Polo Match slated for Sunday
Polo, "the sport of kings," returns to Camden for the 13th annual Camden Cup Polo Match. LeGrand Institute practices fire safety
Students at the LeGrand Institute of Cosmetology in Camden received a lesson on fire safety at a recent event at the campus. Assistant Fire Chief Eddie Gardner came out to the school and taught students how to use a fire extinguisher. Hayes Creek Skateboarding Competition
There will be a skateboarding competition Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Hayes Creek Subdivision in Elgin. The event is sponsored by Salty's Board Shop in Columbia. The proceeds from the competition will go towards purchasing skateboarding gear for the park in an effort to keep kids off of drugs and keep them off of the streets.
