Lugoff Garden club to meet today

Lugoff Garden Club's speaker for today's meeting will be John Mowbray. The meeting will be held at Mr. & Mrs. John Mowbray's home on Quail Lane. John has grown a vegetable garden for the past 41 years and his family eats fresh vegetables all summer sharing with friends, family, and neighbors. The remainder of the vegetables from their garden are frozen or canned to enjoy the rest of the year.

Miss 4-H Pageant

The Miss South Carolina 4-H Pageant was held in Laurens County for 38 young women representing various counties from SC. The pageant is not judged on beauty, but solely on stage presence and communication skills of the contestants. During the formal attire division, the members were asked questions about their 4-H experience and how it has helped them plan for the future. Four 4-Hers represented Kershaw County in the pageant, where they displayed their 4-H project and communication skills. Members of the West Wateree Ropes and Reins 4-H Horse club were contestants in the Miss 4-H Pageant.

Historic Camden presents Armies Through Time

magine having the opportunity to talk to a Spartan warrior from the 5th century. Then visit other stations and military camps to chat with a Medieval warrior or 1650 English Civil War infantryman. Guests will have the chance to do just that and more at Historic Camden's "Armies Through Time." "Armies Through Time" will be held March 20-22 at the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site at 222 Broad Street, Camden.

Help dogs cope with separation anxiety

Dog owners are typically bewildered when man's best friend exhibits destructive or disruptive behavior. Chewing furniture or urinating or defecating indoors is upsetting for dog owners, who might feel they need to discipline their pooch to ensure it does not happen again. But discipline might not be the remedy for destructive or disruptive behavior, which might be a sign of separation anxiety.

Food for the Soul to host golf tournament on April 2

Golfers can greet the long-awaited spring weather on the fairways and putting greens in early April, while they help feed the hungry and shelter the homeless of Kershaw County. Food for the Soul will host its annual golf tournament on Thursday, April 2 at the Camden Country Club. The tournament, which begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start, will raise funds to support Food for the Soul's soup kitchen and sheltering programs. WIS-TV personality Joe Pinner will once again be participating in the tournament with a celebrity golf team.

CCB Winter Concert Sunday

The Camden Community Concert Band (CCCB) will present its Winter Concert on March 8 in the Performing Arts Center at Camden High School. United Way of Kershaw County thanks contributors at campaign Luncheon

The United Way of Kershaw County (UWKC) hosted a luncheon to recognize volunteers and contributors from this year's campaign. The money raised will benefit the numerous UWKC partner agencies that serve Kershaw County. During the luncheon, representatives from each campaign division were recognized and thanked for their work during this campaign season. The Boys and Girls Club Step Team, the Kershaw County Diamonds, performed during the event.
