Conservation Alive and Well in Kershaw County Schools

Bethune Elementary students in grades K-5 recently participated in an Arbor Day Celebration led by Ms. Martha McCaskill. The students came together to sing songs, recite poems, and do skits that celebrated the benefits that trees add to our environment. Both staff and student's worked together and did an excellent job.

A.W. Duo cello and piano concert at Grace Episcopal Church

A.W. Duo, a piano and cello duo made up of pianist Alyona Aksyonova and cellist James Waldo, will perform a benefit concert at Grace Episcopal Church in Camden on March 28. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the church, 1315 Lyttleton St.. Proceeds from the concert will support Heartfelt Home Repair, Grace Church's ministry to the elderly and underprivileged.

Edward Arron & Friends at FAC, second of chamber music series

The Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County is pleased to bring Edward Arron & Friends to Camden for the second concert of the three-part Chamber Music Series on Tuesday. The concert will begin at 7 p.m., immediately following a cocktail hour beginning at 6 p.m. The concert will feature selections by Mozart, Brahms, Schumann and Turina. Junior Leadership Kershaw County Etiquette session

Kershaw County schools superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan serves members of the Junior Leadership Kershaw County class during its social and dinner etiquette session held Jan. 20 at the Millpond Restaurant in Boykin. American Legion contest winner

Camden High School student Nicholas Ranges, center, will represent Camden's James Leroy Belk American Legion Post 17 in the Legion's Quadrant competition of the American Legion High School Oratorical Contest to be held Feb. 15 at Columbia's Post 130.
