Pitchforks return Feb. 5 to the FAC

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) announces the return of the popular all-male a cappella group, The Pitchforks of Duke University to the Wood Auditorium stage. The concert will take place Friday, February 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and are $10 for adults and $5 for students. The audience will enjoy covers of both old and new pop music. The Pitchforks have just released their newest album, Camden Town, which will be available for purchase the evening of the performance. The Pitchforks concert is made possible by Bob Sheheen.

Camden Community Theatre to Present Hit Musical Little Shop of Horrors

The Camden Community Theatre will present the hit musical Little Shop of Horrors at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) Jan. 28-31. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are on sale now and are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and military. Little Shop of Horrors is sponsored by Powers Funeral Home, Will Owen, DMD and Modern Turf. Little Shop of Horrors is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

“Southern Exposures” to open 2016 gallery season

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) will open the 2016 Bassett Gallery exhibition season with a new exhibition beginning Jan. 28. The exhibition titled "Southern Exposures: From the Mountains to the Sea" features the works of landscape artists Helen Smith Warren and Mary Deas Boykin Wortley, both of whom have strong ties to the Camden area through family, friends and the equestrian world. Winnie the Pooh auditions Sunday and Monday

The Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County will hold auditions for its 2016 Youth Arts Month production, Disney's Winnie the Pooh Kids this Sunday, 3 to 5 p.m. and Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium at the FAC. Winnie the Pooh Kids will be directed by FAC Director of Education and Theatre Jami Steele. First through eighth graders are encouraged to come and participate. There is no audition fee. Production dates are March 17-20.

Grace Marie Smith was crowned Miss Camden 2016 and Cassandra Grace Gibson was crowned Miss Camden Teen 2016 on Saturday evening. Other winners from the night are as follows: Overall Ticket Sales, Garnet Robinson; Overall Ad Sales, Cassandra Grace Gibson; Teen Miss Congeniality, Cassandra Grace Gibson; Teen 1st runner up, Garnet Robinson and Miss Congeniality, Nigeria Myers.
