West Wateree Rotary Club’s dinner and silent auction

The West Wateree Rotary Club announces its second annual Wild Game Dinner and Silent Auction at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Old McCaskill's Farm in Rembert. Proceeds will go to the club's scholarships fund for Lugoff-Elgin High School seniors.

Students in teacher Melissa Smith's Wateree Elementary third grade class received a letter from the "IRS" telling them the status of taxes on the Cardinal Cash earned this year. Friends of the Library annual book sale this weekend

The Friends of the Kershaw County Library Annual Book Sale returns to the Old Armory, 1034 W. DeKalb Street this weekend. The sale began Thursday with "Friends' Night" exclusively for members of Friends of the Library from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Non members were allowed to purchase a membership at the door.

Brevard scholarship winners announced

he Camden Music Association (CMA) and the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) announce the winners of the 2015 Brevard Music Competition. This year's competition was held at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church where 13 students competed for scholarships to further their musical endeavors. The competition and recital is sponsored by Sibby Wood in honor of her mother, Margaret Beckley Upton.

Historic Camden's Armies Through Time

Hundreds of people visited Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site last Saturday to learn about warfare through the ages. Guests got to interact with warriors from Ancient Greek wars, Medieval wars, 19th Century wars, World War I, World War II and the Vietnam War. Different stations were set up that featured artifacts, costumes and camps from different wars.
