FAC’s School Arts Program wraps up its 32nd year

For more than 30 years, the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) has collaborated with regional artists and the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) to bring professional artists into the district to perform, inspire and teach. This history includes implementing Arts in Education grants from the South Carolina Arts Commission since 1983.

13th annual Camden Cup Polo Match slated for Sunday

Polo, "the sport of kings," returns to Camden for the 13th annual Camden Cup Polo Match. Set for Sunday at 1:30 p.m., the Camden Cup -- an annual spring benefit for the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) -- will include the polo match as well as the popular Best Tailgate and Best Hat competitions.

Friday at 10 a.m. the Camden Parks and Trees Commission will hold the 5th annual Margot Rochester Landscape Award Ceremony. The ceremony is in honor of Grace Episcopal Church's Memorial Garden for their exceptional landscaping and grounds maintenance.

77th Annual Spring Dog Show

Grace Episcopal Church announces the 77th Annual Spring Dog Show scheduled for Saturday. It will be held at Rectory Square in downtown Camden. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and is $5 per pet, per class or $10 per dog for two or more classes. The show starts at noon.

Mary Ellen Ahner Scholarship application deadline Friday

The Camden-Lugoff Elk's Lodge No. 2603 is accepting applications from Kershaw county students for the Mary Ellen Ahner Scholarship Program. The lodge will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to local students who plan to pursue a career in education. The application deadline is Friday. Information may be obtained from High School Guidance counselors or by calling lodge Scholarship Chairman Linda Talbert at 269-5923.
