In celebration of the Centennial Anniversary of Camden's first hospital, the 2013 Hospital Auxiliary Board of KershawHealth will host a tea on Thursday, April 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the home of auxiliary board member, Ms. Marguerite Glasgow at 301 Kings Chase in Camden.
On Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon, Historic Camden will host Earth Day. The event is for ages 6-12, parents and grandparents. Participants, weather permitting, will enjoy the outdoors by learning about an early American naturalist and walking the Nature Trail.
James Leroy Belk American Legion Post No. 17 is seeking applications for Palmetto Boys State, to be held June 9-15 at Anderson University in Anderson, S.C. Applicants should be motivated students interested in learning about citizenship and government, rising seniors of good character and in the top 25% of their class.
Saturday at 6 p.m., the Camden Branch of the Kershaw County Library will open for a special performance of The Okee Dokee Brothers, a Minneapolis, Minn. based folk duo. The show is free and open to all ages, with a family focus.
ershawHealth will celebrate its 100th anniversary during the week of April 21-27. The Centennial Week Celebration is 100 years in the making and commemorates a century of excellence and caring for the people of Kershaw County.
Wednesday, April 10 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Kershaw County Library's Camden location there will be story-telling relating to the ride of Paul Revere and the events of April 19 1775, courtesy of the Revolutionary War Veterans Association.
Local resident, Neal Clark joins forces with fellow musicians and vocalists for a fabulous night of Broadway and classic songs to benefit the Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County. "My Favorite Things" will take place on Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium. There will be a reception catered by Carolina Café, with a cash bar prior to the performance starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students, seniors and military. The evening is sponsored by Miller Lumber, Sentinel Health Partners and Carolina Café.
