Hoonose show at The Venue will benefit Food for the Soul

It has quickly become a staple of Camden music's post-Christmas scene. Better than that, the annual Hoonose with special guests show at The Venue on Broad has and continues to extend the holiday spirit beyond the season of giving and long after all the presents under the tree have been wrapped, used and, in certain cases, lost or have been long forgotten.

Kershaw County Parks and Recreation, First Palmetto Bank hold annual Christmas Card Contest

The Kershaw County Parks and Recreation Department and First Palmetto Bank recently sponsored their annual Christmas Card Contest. The contest is designed to give elementary school students in Kershaw County the opportunity to show off their creativity and artistic skills by sending a Christmas card. It also gives students the chance to win cash prizes from First Palmetto.

Second Look donates to five local organizations

Second Look on Broad Street donated money to five organizations Dec. 1. A total of $1,000 was given to the Weatherization and Repair Ministries, and $1000 was given to the Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County and the KershawHealth Oncology Clinic Art Cart Program. The West Wateree Community Playground Project received $2,500, and the Family Resource Center Teen program and Kershaw County Activity Center received $4,250 each. The total amount of money donated was $13,000.

The Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County presents Camden Community Theatre's production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!" at 7 p.m. Friday thru Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday in the Wood Auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and military.
