Mayor Scully makes first donation to Knights of Columbus for annual drive

The Knights of Columbus Council of Camden will not kick off their annual Operation Hope Drive until Sept. 25, but Mayor Tony Scully made a donation at Camden City Hall Wednesday, Sept. 10, making him the first person to donate and get the first Tootise Roll from the Knights.

FAC brings Dancing with the Stars back to Camden for second year

The Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County invites the public to an evening of dance and entertainment at its second annual presentation of "Dancing with the Stars," Saturday, Sept. 20. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour with appetizers catered by Carolina Café at 7 p.m. and the performances will start at 8 p.m.

Landscapes & Jazz Greats opens at FAC’s Bassett Gallery Thursday

The Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County will open its 2014-15 Bassett Gallery season with an exhibition of the works of Michael Story. Landscapes & Jazz Greats will open with a catered reception Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. just prior to the Mary Tatum Piano Room Dedication and Concert.

Stover to honor late teacher

Leslie M. Stover Middle School is starting a new tradition in honor of former teacher, Mike Rush called "Rush Week." Mr. Rush was an 8th grade Social Studies teacher who recently passed away in the summer of 2014. Students and staff who were lucky enough to know Mr. Rush, knew him as a kind, caring, and giving individual. He would do anything for his students and his colleagues.
