CFD presents firefighters with awards during Christmas party

In these photographs, the Camden Fire Department (CFD) awards its annual Chief Carl S. Hammond Career and Volunteer Firefighter awards during its Christmas party Dec. 10 at the Health Resource Center. Hammond's grandson, Jacob Hammond (left) and CFD Chief John Bowers (right) presented the awards. The recipient of the Career award was Engineer Skip Hannon and the Volunteer award to Chaplain Jimmy Atkerson. Hammond's late grandfather was a longtime Camden Fire Department chief.

Girl Scout Troop 968 presents Bronze Awards

County students compete in Christmas Card Contest

The results of the Kershaw County Recreation Department annual Christmas Card Contest sponsored by First Palmetto Savings Bank are in. All schools participating were combined (by each grade), for the over-all cash prize winners. All winners and honorable mentions are on display at the First Palmetto Savings Bank on East DeKalb Street. These cards may be picked up at the Recreation Department office any time after Dec. 30.
