Wayne Belger of Boykin recently received the Glen Krohn Outstanding 4H Volunteer Award at Clemson University.Each year, Clemson Extension Service recognizes three individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the 4H youth program in South Carolina with the Glen Krohn Outstanding 4H Volunteer Award.

The Wateree District of the Boy Scouts holds awards ceremony

The Wateree District of the Boy Scouts of America had its awards ceremony March 14 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Lyttleton Street Methodist Church. Around 80 scouts and friends attended this event. Porkchop Productions returns to the Kershaw County Library

Porkchop Productions, South Carolina's highly praised children's theater troupe, will present "The Three Goats Gruff" at the Kershaw County Library Monday. Two performances will be presented: the first one at 10:30 a.m. at the Elgin branch and the second at 2 p.m. at the Camden branch.

Local medical clinic receives donated shelf

The children at Sandhills Medical Clinic (SMC) in Lugoff are the first recipients of a "Livi's Libaray" bookshelf in the area. "Livi's Library" is in memory of Mary Olivia Pettit, the 9-year-old daughter of Bryan and Lisa Pettit. Livi had a great passion for books which is what inspired the idea.
