The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) is proud to present the Columbia Choral Society's Jasmine & Jazz -- An Afternoon with Dick Goodwin at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Wood Auditorium. This production is part of a celebration of the 85th anniversary of the Columbia Choral Society (CCS.) Tickets are $15 for general admission and are on sale now through the FAC Box Office and website www.fineartscenter.org.

Included topics will be soil health, choosing a grass variety, weeds, grass diseases, watering, and maintenance.
The Col. Joseph Kershaw Chapter, in conjunction with State Society President Wayne Cousar, will commemorate the 225th Anniversary of President Washington's visit to Camden on Wednesday, May 25. The commeration starts at 11 a.m. with a wreath-laying ceremony and special dramatic reading at the 18th century town square where Washington was welcomed by Intendant Joseph Kershaw. A second wreath-laying will follow at the SAR Revolutionary War Memorial Park near the originalburial site of Baron Johann de Kalb. The South Carolina Color Guard is scheduled to provide military honors and musket volley at both locations.
The Camden Garden Club will hold its next meeting Monday at Dixie Hall Plantation, home of Patsy Topping. This will be a business meeting so there will be no guests, but the speaker will be Joan Danforth who is Chairman of the Flower Guild for the Garden Club of Columbia. Her program will be on Floral Arrangement Initiatives in Columbia.
CamdenART, an affiliate member of the Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County will open its spring Honors Show entitled "The Spirit Within" on Tuesday, May 17 in the Bassett Gallery with a reception from 5:30 to 7p.m. The exhibition will honor the winners of the Fall Members' Show, a juried exhibition, along with 45 pieces of artwork in many different mediums including wood, clay, canvas and cast sculptures from Camden ART members.
The Kershaw County Music Association (KCMA) will hold its spring concert on Sunday, May 8 at 3 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC.) An affiliate member of the FAC, the KCMA's spring concert will feature the members of KCMA along with several special guests from the community. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
The competitive dance program at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC), operated by Alexis Kelley McDonald of Kelley's Fine Arts (KFA,) and also known as the KFA Camden Crew, just returned from their last regional competition of the season. It has been a very successful season for the dance team. The competitive team traveled to three different competitions this spring bringing home numerous awards. The Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County is preparing to say farewell to long-time Chamber Choir of Kershaw County (CCKC) Music Director Dr. Susan Wyatt. After 25 years of leadership with CCKC, Dr. Wyatt has announced she will retire at the end of this season. The CCKC will present its Spring Concert to honor Dr. Wyatt on Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium of the FAC. There will be a reception for Dr. Wyatt immediately following the concert.
