Youth basketball tourney to be held April 8-10

Above The Rim X III Part 2, a double elimination for age groups 11U and 17U, will be held at Rhame City Arena, 517 Bull St., Camden April 8 - 10. Registration fees are $100 if paid on or prior to March 27 deadline and $150 after deadline but before April 2. Maximum of 15 players and four coaches per team. Rosters must be submitted by deadline. Celebrating 50 years together

Mr. and Mrs. James L. Hough celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 30th, 2011 with a barbecue at their home. Lloyd and Ann were married January 28, 1961. In addition to the barbecue, they will also celebrate with a trip in the spring to Asheville, N.C. with their three sons; Tony, Chris, and Michael; their daughter-in-laws and grandchildren.

Finally Friday returns to FAC

Beverly-Hayes Book Scholarship opens doors for seniors

Dr. Camisha Hayes Williams announced the establishment of a $500 book scholarship in memory of her mother, Beverly Hayes Brown, on Feb. 26. Brown was a strong supporter of her community and believed all children should have access to quality education. It is fitting that this scholarship has been endowed in her memory to advance the future of a high school student seeking higher education. Downtown Divas Go Red

On Feb. 17 the Downtown Camden Guild hosted the second annual Downtown Divas Go Red for Women's Heart Health Month event. Nearly 100 women participated in the tour of downtown businesses, which included free health screenings provided by KershawHealth hospital. The event was spearheaded by Jennifer Shaw and Gail Carter of First Community Bank.

School programs, students improve with proper support

I would first like to thank everyone personally that supported the North Central and Lugoff Elgin marching bands as they traveled to Disney World in February to march in Disney parades. Both ensembles had great performances and both were very well complimented by the Disney staff, parents, and visitors to the Disney parks. Miss Lugoff-Elgin 2015 crowned

29 young women competed for the titles of Miss L-E and Jr. Miss L-E Saturday evening at the Lugoff-Elgin High School auditorium. The theme for the evening was "Dancing into the 1920s."
