Philip S. Minges, Jr., 91, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Born December 1, 1923 in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late Philip Semon Minges, Sr. and Rose Harley Minges. Philip graduated from Charleston High School in 1941. While attending Clemson University, he enlisted in the Army during World War II. He was an infantryman assigned to the Eleventh Armored Division. Philip was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and awarded The Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He concluded his military service with the rank of Colonel in the US Army Reserves.
