Mr. Leslie Wood, 88, of Lugoff, departed this life Sunday July 31, 2011 at Kershaw Health, Camden. He was a Veteran of World War II United States Army. He was a retiree of E. I. DuPont, Camden South Carolina. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years; Mrs. Viola S. Wood, four daughters; Byrdyne (Franklin) Bell of Augusta, GA, Brenda Wood of Lugoff, SC, Sandra Wood of Columbia, SC and Shelia (Floyd) Bracey of Lugoff, SC; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister; Inez Cunningham of Lugoff, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.

Charles Cushman Jr.

Charles V.B. Cushman, Jr., age 85, of Camden, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at his summer home in Chadds Ford, PA., that he shared with his wife, Joanne Bahr Cushman. Charlie was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 9, 1926, and spent his childhood in Upperville, Virginia. His entire adult life was spent in Camden. Charlie worked extensively in thoroughbred horse racing and training and he was very active in supporting the Kershaw County Hospital Foundation as well as the Camden equestrian community.
